For 2006, new long haul destinations included Vancouver, Canada; Cancun, Mexico; the Dominican Republic; and Egypt. New European destinations include Naples, Galway and Lorient. New UK desinations are Manchester and Newquay.
Air Wales closed down its scheduled passenger business on April 23rd, though all but one of its routes from Cardiff are now served by Aer Arann, bmibaby, Thomsonfly and Eastern Airways.
Irish airline Aer Arann has also taken over the Cardiff-Dublin route from Air Wales and Ryanair, now providing three services a day between the two capitals. Eastern Airways also announced a major increase in its operation, from the airport, with the resumption of twice daily flights to Brussels.
